Virginia School Forest- Walking Tour

School Forest $5

Have you heard your child or grandchild talk about going to the school Forest? Join former 5th grade teacher Chris Holmes to explore portions of the Virginia Forest trail system and visit the various learning stations located on the 120acre property. Learn about the Minnesota School Forest program and see how Virginia Teachers use it to provide outdoor education activities for their students. Meet and leave park and ride lot on highway 53/169 interchange at 4:30pm, then drive to the forest. Dress for a 1-mile hike, rain or shine.

Virginia Historical Society Tour

Thurs., Oct. 7 6:00-7:00pm

The Virginia Historical Society is offering an after-hours tour of the heritage museum in Olcott Park. Take a 60-minute guided tour lead by Chris Holmes of the museum and view the historical exhibits relating to Virginia and the surrounding area. Masks are required. A free will donation at the door would be appreciated.

At this class you will emboss, paint, die-cut and stamp two beautiful pairs of lightweight leather earrings. All supplies will be provided. Including your choice of semiprecious beads to embellish your creations. You will also receive high-quality silver, niobium or copper ear wires to complete your project. If you have round and flat-nosed jewelry pilers bring them, some will be provided to share.

Let’s make a sign! You can choose which sign you would like to make. Everything is ready for you to sit, paint and glue together. At time of registration please indicate which sign you would like to make. If you would like to buy additional kits at class, they will be available for $20. He will also tell you what to watch for when you are buying them. Counterfeits are flooding the market, so you need to be aware! You need to register for this class.

Winter Porch Pot or Hanging Basket

Come and create your own unique winter porch pot or Hanging Basket to use in your outside holiday decorating. A variety of greenery and decorations will be provided for you to use. You bring a 12’ x 12” Scrapbooking Paper Pad (or share a pad with a friend) or bring a least 6 sheets of Coordinating Scrapbook paper. You will use instructors glue, dies, and other supplies and bits to make as many fancy gift bags, tags and gift boxes as you can in this class. You will also adorn your creations with embossing, ribbon handles and handmade flowers. You will go home with at least 3 different bag designs and all the trimmings! Once you learn this you will never have to buy a $6 bag again!

Chanhassen Trip- Footloose

No previous decorating experience needed to enjoy this class. You will leave with a dozen cupcakes with varied flavors and designs along with the recipes.

Zoom- Instant Pot Cook- Along Classes

Have fun participating in these virtual Instant-pot classes! You can choose from any of the many classes listed below that you would like to participate in. You will need to have access to Zoom. You will receive instructions on how to access the class prior to it starting. Two dishes will be made during each class in addition to a side. Choose one for your cook-along and watch a demonstration of the other or if you have a second Instant Pot on hand and want to make both please do! Instructor Tess Georgakopoulos has been a cook and community education instructor for over 40 years and has been teaching both in-person and on-line for a number of years, having worked with numerous public-school districts in and around the Twin Cities. All cook-along classes will be 2 hours long to allow time for

Build Your Own Gingerbread House
